The plot of this movie was so predictable and the acting did not lend the script a helping hand. The word on the street was that this movie was great and given the plot, the acting, the costuming, and the boring camera work all created a predictable, standard Hollywood film that is overrated.

Children of Men had me enthralled just by glimpsing the trailer. In my opinion, this film is vastly underrated by the general public who favors hot women, action, and attractive men in movies. By watching how meticulously crafted Children of Men was, this is by far my favorite movie. The depiction of the future is amazing and Clive Owen is both a hero and anti-hero. It is just a shame that this movie did poorly at the box office and many movies deserving what they have showed on screen are left collecting dust.
I had heard from a few "reliable sources" that this was a fantastic movie. I couldn't have been more disappointed. The acting was ok, and I really like Michael Caine, but the story was pretty lame. It seemed like it had a lot of potential but they had to shoe-horn into a Hollywood movie... and therefore it lost any sort of poignancy.

There was little/no hype about the movie (Snakes on a Plane = hype). I hadn't heard of it until my friend mentioned it to me. I thought it was a very well made movie. Acting was spectacular and so on.
