So, overall, it's a good movie -- but award winning? Ouch -- not quite. In fact, it is interesting, but for a movie about a Penguin that is born as the oddball because he can dance and not sing to take a hard left turn about 3/4 of the way into the show is jarring and seems contrived. A respectable, relevant subject matter -- but subject matter and execution are two entirely different things. Leaves me feeling like it did so well at the academy awards because it nicely coincides with the current mindset of some of hollywood's heaviest hitters.
