Are you kidding me, Maiden is the one of the greatest metal bands out there, I know now everyone considers metal to be like Lamb of God, and yes, I do listen to everything from Pantera, Slayer, Lamb of God, etc but Maiden is what revolutionized metal, they are like gods...I still believe that Smith is one of the most talented guitarist in this genre...
What I hate the most about Iron Maiden is the fans. They are not open minded and they think it's great metal... I have listen to their discography, the voice of Bruce Dickinson cracks me up, the guitar hamronies are horrible to my ear, the music too much nervous it's unpleasent. Too many facts that I will never like this band!
Just saw them last night for the first time. I'm part of their younger generation of fans. You were either really old, or really young. I gotta say their performance was one of the best performances I've ever seen. Underrated? They're great, but not gods.
No one really knows Iron Maiden anymore. Or, if they do, they just hear the band and dismiss them as hair metal (gag). Still, in a decade that was mired in hair bands and new wave, Iron Maiden soldiered on and produced some of the greatest heavy metal since the supergenre's inception.
