some of the most creative music of all time. This band's experiments payed off, and to say they are overrated is just wrong.

Pink Floyd has some of the greatest music I've ever heard in my entire life, but also have some crappy stuff. Not too crappy, but in that level. Dark side, Wish you were here and the wall are all rated about right, but there are some albums which are quite underrated. Meddle, animals, and the division bell are all pretty underrated, but the most underrated of all is a Saucerful of Secrets. Anyway, I think that Floyd's greatest work is better than any of Zepplin's or even the Beatles'. Dark Side of the Moon is the best album of all time!
I think the Floyd hype is totally justified, IMO they're more than just DSOTM. WYWH, Meddle, Animals, are fantastic, but I do think the Wall isn't on the same level and overrated. But Pink Floyd overall is amazing and deserve all the credit they get.

there's also
Meddle
The Wall
Animals
Wish You Were Here
all those are classic albums. they have as many if not more good albums than the beatles.

They 2 or 3 great albums(DSOM, Animals, WYWH) 2 or 3 good albums (Meddle, OBC) and the rest are bad albums. (AHM,SOS, Ummagumma, SOS, etc)

Pink Floyd produced one great album: Dark Side of the Moon. And that album was largely great for two songs: Eclipse and Brain Damage (and those ARE fantastic songs).
However, Pink Floyd's influence on music is greatly overstated; bands like Yes and David Bowie had a far bigger impact. That, combined with the legions of Pink Floyd fans who find it blasphemous to dislike Floyd or have different musical tastes, and the band gets quickly becomes quite annoying.
