An apology is a formal justification or defense of a position.
Ever since "Wincing the Night Away" yes. You could argue that even before that they were over hyped from Garden State. But I think the hype for them since has died down (considering that album was a piece of crap). Everything before that was fantastic. A couple months ago I wouldn't have hesitated to say overrated. But now I think they've leveled off and are just about right.
